Tax rules on record
- Zimbabwe tax on betting winnings (rate not verified): rate not confirmed Not verified Media reports discuss a withholding tax on punters' winnings in Zimbabwe. BetGuide has not verified the current rate, what it is charged on (the whole payout or only the profit) or how each bookmaker applies it, so no rate is filled in. Enter a rate to see its effect.

What this calculator does
It takes your stake, the decimal odds and a tax rate you enter, then shows:
- the gross payout (stake × odds),
- the amount the rate is applied to,
- the hypothetical tax, and
- the payout and profit after that hypothetical tax.
You choose whether the rate applies to the whole payout (stake plus profit) or only the profit, because those give very different results.
Example
A $5 bet at odds of 3.00 wins. Gross payout $15.00, gross profit $10.00. With a hypothetical 10% rate:
| Tax charged on | Taxable amount | Hypothetical tax | Payout after tax | Profit after tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Whole payout | $15.00 | $1.50 | $13.50 | $8.50 |
| Profit only | $10.00 | $1.00 | $14.00 | $9.00 |
Important
- We have not verified the current tax rate on betting winnings in Zimbabwe, what it is charged on, or how each bookmaker applies it. That is why no rate is filled in.
- Our other calculators never deduct tax automatically. They show gross figures only.
- For the actual deduction on your bet, check your bookmaker's terms and bet slip, or ask the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA).
